1.28: ‘VeeLog’, with Myke Hurley.

*This was recorded an hour before the upcoming iPad Event was announced, so due to some topics spoken of, it’s been brought forward!*

A co-founder of RelayFM, the name may ring a bell if you listen to Connected, Pen Addict, Upgrade, Analogue, and many more podcasts that he is a part of.

He decided to go for it in 2014 with his friend Stephen Hackett, and since then RelayFM has flourished into a ‘go-to’ place of podcasts and their wide assortment of topics.

Here, we speak about how both his iPads fit into his workflow, especially when travelling, alongside what he wants to see in the (now confirmed) upcoming event for a new iPad.

From how the podcasts are edited to even Myke giving me the great news that a favourite game of mine has only just been released onto the Switch, we have a fun hour going through so many topics.

Regarding the title, listen straight to the end and you will discover just how ‘hip‘ and ‘with it‘ I am when I ask about his videos on YouTube.

Just a few of the podcasts that Myke hosts:

  1. Connected
  2. Upgrade
  3. Analogue
  4. Pen Addict

1.26: ‘Spice World’, with Carrie Marshall.

Nothing breaks the ice better than the Spice Girls.

Carrie has been a freelance writer for the last twenty years, where her first byline was .net in 1998, and since its gone to magazines, sites, and has even written a book. She is also a regular host on a variety of shows on BBC Radio Scotland as the ‘tech guru’.

This was recorded at the end of August, and so we talk about my first steps into my now-current freelance career, where Carrie gives her stories about taking her steps into the field twenty years ago, with a lot of great advice given.

We also go into our thoughts about the Apple of 2018, alongside iOS 12 and much more.

But first of all, a quick update on things since this episode was recorded, and a thank you.

1.20: ‘Siri, take me to 1985’, with Chris Lawley.

Chris is someone who I’ve been following towards the start of this year when I first listened to ‘Slab of Glass’, a podcast he co-hosts with previous guest Jeff Perry.

Chris is more of a video editor than a writer, and his passion shows with his YouTube channel, alongside his main site, ‘Untitled Site’, where he talks all about how he uses his iPad full time.

We talk all about this, alongside where we see Siri Shortcuts fitting on an AppleTV, games on an iPad, and which app he’d take with him on Outpost Island.

1.17: ‘Whisky’, with Matt Gemmell.

A very fun episode, where we talked about having to use our MacBooks for tasks that’s unavailable for the iPad for now, alongside how Matt is creating his second book TOLL, entirely from his iPad Pro. We also talked about his dog Whisky, a Leonard Nimoy story, followed by all the Nintendo Switch talk.

Enjoy.

1.16: ‘A Slab of Keyboards’, with Jeff Perry.

Jeff is someone I’ve only come across in the last couple of months, but already him and his co-host of their ‘Slab of Glass’ podcast have made it something you should be listening to.

Hence why Jeff is on this weeks episode!

We go into detail of our workflow with our iPads, alongside our love for keyboards, and where we see iPads fitting in a Marzipan, FaceID world.
