Since [sharing my early thoughts](https://darylbaxter.com/posts/nintendo-switch-2-hands-on-review/), I've been using my Switch 2 in between [some jobs](https://muckrack.com/daryl-baxter?ref=darylbaxter.com), [setting up a business](https://darylbaxter.com/posts/springboard-copywriting-business-no-ai/), and the secret project. Apart from some annoyances with the system's software, it's been a great time. The eShop is fast and reliable, the display is great, and playing backwards-compatible titles is really impressive, with faster loading times in games like *Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled* and *Metal Gear Solid 2*. Back in April, I wanted to [share some screenshots](https://darylbaxter.com/posts/taking-game-screenshots/) I had taken, whilst also explaining how I usually take them without thinking. The same is already true for Switch 2, but thanks to how they sync to the [Switch app](https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nintendo-switch-app/id1234806557?ref=darylbaxter.com) on my iPhone, it's easier than ever to transfer them and post some below. (Follow the link and click 'change amount' to whatever you want).* --- One thing I've noticed in some games, like *Dragon Ball FighterZ* and *Metal Gear Solid 2*, is how low-res everything can look on Switch 2, whether I'm using it in handheld mode or when docked. It's not the console's nor the game's fault; it's simply how it was made for the original Switch so it could run as smoothly as possible. But now, it would be great to see more patches that take advantage of Switch 2's capabilities. Currently, every *Metal Gear* game runs at 720p at 30 FPS. Let's see 4K docked and 1080p in handheld at a smooth 60 FPS in both modes, Konami. It's time. Nevertheless, it's still great to play all these games I've bought over the years on Switch 2 with no extra effort required. If you had told me in 2015 that Nintendo would have the best-selling console of all time that had games like *Tomb Raider Remastered*, *Metal Gear Solid*, *Powerstone*,and *Jedi Power Battles,* I'd have laughed and thought it was as likely as thinking writing was a viable career for me. It's a good time for game preservation, especially for what's available on the Switch 2, and I'm very curious as to what's coming next for the platform. *Metal Gear Solid 4* and *Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II*, perhaps?
