# Video: How 'The Making of Tomb Raider: 1997-2000' Began

It took me one hour. One hour that began with deciding to create a video about how [*The Making of Tomb Raider: 1997-2000*](https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/The-Making-of-Tomb-Raider-1997-2000-Hardback/p/62302?ref=darylbaxter.com) was made, to scheduling it on YouTube. As I had worked on the book for almost three years, I was planning to write up a short series on here about it all, from start to finish.

But then I thought - [*no*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luqdKfoZfPM&ref=darylbaxter.com). The book needs me to talk in front of a camera and explain how it came to be, along with its [amazing front cover by Inna Vjuzhanina](https://www.patreon.com/innavjuzhanina/posts/making-of-tomb-161594180?ref=darylbaxter.com), and other aspects. So the video below is exactly that.

Also, you may have seen Springboard on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/dbspringboard?ref=darylbaxter.com) and [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@dbspringboard?ref=darylbaxter.com) lately - that's been a lot of fun, and I'm planning on doing more short-form videos.
