-13th June 2018-
That was the day I decided I’ve had enough.
As my partner says, I just don’t fit into the world of 9-5 office work. Do what you love instead.
So that’s what I’ve decided to do.
I’m now in the midsts of transitioning from a day job, to making writing my only thing, and so far the reactions have been positive, mixed with a lot of ‘are you sure’, but meant in the best way.
So the following is what I can do for you.
I enjoy writing features the most, and I have no problem in talking to many people in getting the right perspective, opinions and insights into the topic.
But of course, reviews, interviews, opinion pieces, which OUTPOST is full of as you can see, is also something I can do.
But even if you’re a small business (or a big one), I’ve got experience in report, invoice, and random blog writing if you need it. Or even some proof-reading for existing reports and press releases. A couple of businesses have already reached out, and work is just about to begin with some of these examples.
But what about Outpost? Well, its still going to carry on of course, and so will the podcast and newsletter.
The Outpost Show has been going from strength to strength since its debut last September. With the main topic this ‘season’ about iPads, its been great to have breaks, where I’ve talked about games with Chris Scullion, or just solocasts. The show has bookings for guests until September at the least, and I’m happy to keep doing it every fortnight.
The Outpost Issue was something I wanted to try out to cater for those who just want content delivered to them, without having to click on a link on their preferred social media site. It’s already had over 50 subscribers, with so many guest columns sent to me that I’ve got enough until it reaches at least Issue 10 so far. You can subscribe here if you wish.
Both will carry on for as long as I enjoy doing it. If it means the podcast will feature ‘solocasts’ for a while because of no guests for a certain month, then so be it.
I’m more than happy to commute somewhere for a piece if needed, I’m sure something could be arranged.
